I have been in Washington for just a little over 2 years and have really enjoyed nature here. I am originally from the desert in Southern California, so living here has been a real treat. On a professional level, I have been introduced to various industries that I was not exposed to before in California, but have had a good time familiarizing myself with them. I have learned a great deal about how dairy farms, tree farms, rock quarries, and cattle farms work and function; and the clients that I have met along the way have been a delight to work with!
Although taxes and accounting are very much a part of my life, I also have a strong artistic side, which I think allows me to think out-of-the box professionally. I have won several awards for my photography in small competitions and I also enjoy abstract acrylic painting.
I have participated in the Volunteer Tax Income Assistance (VITA) program in which free tax assistance was given to lower income and elderly taxpayers who were unable to prepare returns or pay for professional assistance. I also participate in the Bible education work, in which for over 5 years I have dedicated over 800 volunteer hours a year.
