As the newest member of our team and a current student at Centralia College, I still have much to learn about the world of accounting. In July 2015, I was hired as the receptionist for our sister company, Pete Bézy Realty. To my delight, I have gradually taken on more and more responsibility for the accounting side of the business. I have also participated in the Volunteer Tax Income Assistance (VITA) program sponsored through Centralia College, which provides assistance to lower income taxpayers unable to file their own returns.

Accounting has been a passion of mine since high school. I have always excelled in math subjects and possess many of the traits preferred in the accounting profession: analytical/problem solving skills, organization, efficiency, determination, and reliability. There is no greater reward than feeling as if I’m really making a difference through my work and being depended on by others. I see accounting as a challenging profession that will provide me with opportunities to continuously expand my knowledge and to assist remarkable individuals and businesses.

My ultimate goal is to earn the Certified Public Accountant designation. I am completing the required education through Centralia College’s 4-year program, the Bachelor of Applied Science Applied Management with a concentration in accounting. Upon completion of this degree in Spring 2017, it is my plan to sit for the CPA exam. In the meantime, I am learning all that I can about small business and nonprofit accounting under the influence of Carol Bézy and her wonderful staff.
